Too busy for my own good

This weekend is my monthly modular class, which means I’m sitting through a six-hour lecture on the Patristic Age tomorrow and another six-hour lecture on Saturday.
On Wednesday I have my Old Testament mid-term, worth 25% of my grade in that class, so this weekend I’ll be studying hard for that. I don’t have classes next Thursday though, so I’m finally getting a bit of a break.
I also went back to working outside the home this week for the first time since September 2006, processing a collection in the Rolfing Library archives. I can’t even begin to express right now how great it feels to be working again and how excited I am about my new job.
So, that’s why there’s no new posts on anything substantive at the moment. There are some personal discussions going on at the private blog. If you still haven’t signed up for that and you want to, e-mail me your WordPress.com username. You must have a WordPress.com username; a WordPress.org username won’t work.

  1. I’ve been reading your blog for a few months but haven’t commented. I was wondering if you had chosen a church yet (I realize that may be something you wish to keep private). Your church seeking journey was really interesting to me, as I just started college and am now doing the same thing, and egalitarianism is one of my big issues, too.
I can’t say I envy you your six hour lectures (and on a Saturday?!), but they do sound like interesting classes. It must be so fun to pick out your schedule.
  2. Hi Kate, and welcome to the blog!
The modular class isn’t so bad. It’s only once a month. After this weekend I just have the two November meetings, then it’s all done meeting. It kind of keeps them out of the way.
I am still deciding between Church of the Redeemer and DeerGrove Covenant Church, and they’re both really wonderful congregations that would work out so well for me on a lot of levels. My husband is going to visit DeerGrove this Sunday, and after that I think I’ll be ready to make my decision. I will do a post on it when I do.
Good luck finding an egalitarian church. As you may have noticed from my church-hunting articles, Christians for Biblical Equality posts a list of egalitarian denominations, and the Evangelical Covenant Church has a list of Covenant churches pastored by women.
