Obama campaign worker caught illegally voting in Ohio?

Palestra has the story on how an Obama campaign worker named Jacob I. Smith registered and voted in Ohio on October 1, 2008 using the address of a family in Ohio that is hosting Obama campaign workers from out of state. Smith grew up in Florida and went to college in New York, so there is no indication that he plans to live in Ohio permanently. Ohio Residence Determination Rules 3503.02c specifically states:
(C) A person shall not be considered to have gained a residence in any county of this state into which the person comes for temporary purposes only, without the intention of making such county the permanent place of abode.
Somebody tell me, if this race isn’t close, why is the Obama campaign cheating?
Even better question: why are college journalists doing the work that the MSM Tanning Bed Media should be doing?
Hat tip: Hot Air
UPDATE: The Obama campaign’s response? A very Clintonesque “That depends on your definition of the word ‘temporary.’” LOL
From Ace:
A job which is specified in advance to last several weeks is, I’m afraid to say, quite temporary.
I was a lawyer too, McTigue. Trust me on this: Campaign workers who come to a state and do not attempt to establish their own residence, but merely flop with college students for the three weeks of employment, are not “permanent” residents of the state.
And no “liberal interpretation” of the law can rescue them.
I cite the leading case In Re The F—ing Obvious.
Obama instructed his campaign workers to vote illegally.
Period.
