Election Eve Thoughts

Barack Obama looks poised to win this election, and by all accounts he should win. From the media, he’s received over twice the positive coverage and half the negative coverage that McCain has. He’s spent over 660 million on his campaign, more than any other candidate in this nation’s history—I guess it’s easy to raise 660 million when Adolf Hitler, Nodda Realperson and illegal immigrants like your own aunt have your back. And with the current Republican administration finishing its reign to murky approval ratings, most people are just ready for a change. It may not be the change that we need, but it’s a change.
The polls are all calling the race for Obama. ElectionProjection and Electoral-Vote, both sites I respect, are predicting the electoral college for Obama by 353 to 185. Gallup has him up by 11, Rasmussen by 6, and Zogby by 5. However, a recent TIPP/Investor’s Business poll hadObama by a mere 2 points, and elsewhere I have linked to DJ Drummond’s work at WizBang on why the polls are wrong this year.
So, this is my message to the conservatives, the PUMAs, the independents and the moderates who support McCain-Palin. For tomorrow:
VOTE.
The only way Barack Obama wins is if you don’t vote. If you believe the polls are right, Obama has it in the bag and there’s no point in voting, then he’s won already.
Need some motivation? Just think of how much fun it will be to hear liberals QQ about how the polls could have been so wrong and how raaaaaaaaaacist America is for not electing Obama. And if Sarah Palin actually becomes the first female vice-president in U.S. history, the irritation and outrage from liberal feminists will be a comedy in the art of emo that writes itself.
So go vote. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
I would tell you Barack Obama supporters to vote as part of some bi-partisan gesture about the awesomeness of voting, but I’m honestly hoping you all get complacent and think he has it in the bag so that you stay home.

  1. Sorry, Jack, I didn’t get complacent. Neither did Adam. :) But we’ll see what happens!
