AWOL
Just wanted to say, sorry I’ve been gone this week. I’ve been taking time to myself, still trying to come to grips with my new motherless life. Dad gave me a little urn last week with some of her ashes in it. I plan to set up a shelf for it along with some pictures of her, but for now I just keep it by my bed when I sleep.
I had a dream about her last night, where she came back to life. I was kind of astonished that she was back when she had been cremated; I remember pointing stupidly to the urns with her ashes in them and asking her how it was possible, which just made her laugh. I don’t remember very much about the dream, only the overwhelming happiness I felt at having her back. It made things that much sadder when I had to wake up this morning.
My church in Tacoma has started several evening classes, so I might start going to one of those, assuming I can either have Paul watch Harley or get a sitter for her. Harley’s playgroup went on a field trip to the Scholz Pumpkin Patch in Orting today. She got to check out a corn maze, ride a tractor, pet cows, feed chickens and play in a huge pile of woodchips. And then there were pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins, which she loved and kept trying to pick up pumpkins that were too big for her.
I’ve settled on being Wonder Woman for Halloween and have the costume on the way along with Harley’s Teletubby costume. My husband will be going as Rorschach from Watchmen and so far we have the coat and scarf. We’re still looking out for the right hat and pants, and planning on making the mask. So that’s what’s going on in my life. Hope everyone has a happy Halloween & harvest season.
