And I don’t mean anything related to President-Elect Obama.

I’ve gone through quite a few nicknames and handles on discussion forums and blogs in my day: Junia, Illyria, then later ClobberGirl. I made the switch to posting by my real name (“Jack Meyers”) on several discussion forums years ago, but began posting on some other political blogs as “ClobberGirl,” wishing to conceal my identity at the time. I’ve been blogging publicly since July and have made my real name available on my blog’s “About” page ever since, but still kept the “ClobberGirl” moniker.

Now though, I think it’s time to bid a fond farewell to the nickname and go by my real name permanently. I won’t be changing the URL or name of the blog for now; ClobberBlog has a nice ring to it I think.

If you’re wondering what to call me, I go by Jack. If calling a girl Jack drives you crazy, you can call me Bridget. Don’t call me Jackie or make stupid sex jokes about using “Jack” as a verb or I’ll disemvowel you and make you advertise www.eunuchs.org as your URL. Your jokes are lame and I’ve heard them all before.

And, if you are one of my lurkers or occasional readers, let me just say thanks for the kind comments and feedback. I do read them all, even if I don’t respond to them all, and it’s encouraging to hear what you have to say. I hope you’ll be seeing greater things from me some day.
