Washington Trip

So, later today I head to the airport and catch a plane to Washington state to visit my family. I’ll be bringing my daughter but not my husband—he gets a much-needed week to himself here in Chicago.
My plane has a layover in Denver, where we’re meeting up with Seth R. and his family for dinner.
My plans in Washington include:
  • Participating in a Mormon Expression Podcast on Saturday re-capping the day’s General Conference sessions. This Podcast will be posted on Tuesday, April 6.
  • Celebrating this Easter Sunday with my old home churches, Sumner Presbyterian Church and New Community Church of Tacoma.
  • Driving up to Vancouver for the Vancouver Temple Open House.
  • I’m hoping to meet up with my BFF BrianJ at some point, though we’ve yet to solidify our plans there.
Other than that, just lots of homework and letting my father spend time with his only grandchild, plus catching up with other relatives. I’m hoping I’ll get to introduce my sister to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in support of her new found interest in feminism.
Did I mention that my father is getting married on August 21st of this year?

  1. We were glad to meet you. The kids had a lot of fun and it’s always great to meet people in real life. Hope the remainder of the trip goes well.
  2. I think this would be a better post if your “Washington Trip” involved dropping acid and seeing the founding fathers. I’m just saying.
  3. I can’t help but agree with Kullervo.
Nevertheless, I’m glad that, from the sounds of things, you’re having a good time in Washington.
  4. My trip was fun. Meeting Seth for the first time and getting to see BrianJ again was nice.
I never made it up to Vancouver for the temple open house. Alas, someday I’ll catch one of those.
I’m back in Chicago tomorrow night. One month left till the end of my second semester of graduate school, time to hit the homework grind.
