Annoy Wayne Grudem — Give to CBE
Christians for Biblical Equality is participating in a special fundraiser being held by the state of Minnesota on Tuesday, November 17. Here’s how it works:
- From Tuesday, November 17, 8:00 AM to Wednesday, November 18, 8:00 AM (CST), the state of Minnesota is hosting “Give to the Max Day,” a special fundraiser meant to help minimize the effect of the recession on nonprofit organizations.
- The state is offering a $500,000 grant that will be divided up and used to match all donations received during that 24-hour period.
- The amount matched depends on the amount of donations received by all nonprofits. If $500,000 is raised on that day, the amount matched will be $1 per dollar donated. If $2,000,000 is raised, the amount matched will be $0.25 per dollar donated.
- 100% of your donation will go to CBE. The state of Minnesota is not taking a cut.
- Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
- Donations are made via credit card.
- $10 is the minimum required gift amount.
- The organization which raises the most money will receive a special $5,000 grant. The second-highest will receive $2,500 and the third-highest will receive $1,000.
As has been the case with most nonprofit organizations, the recession has been hard on CBE. Normally they publish three quarterly periodicals: the scholarly journal Priscilla Papers, the magazine Mutuality and the free online journal E-Quality. Regrettably, E-Quality had to be put on hold in 2008 due to lack of funds and has not been back. I’d like to see it return.

I know that most of my readers are LDS and probably not interested in supporting an evangelical feminist organization which has little interaction with Mormonism. Don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you. However, I thought I would make the announcement just the same for any lurking egalitarians who read the blog.
Besides, just think of how much fun it will be to annoy Wayne Grudem by dumping money into CBE. That thought alone is worth at least $10.
