MadChemist, I’m not sure I follow you. I’m only chuckling over it, not trying to be mean-spirited or anything. I don’t actually think they’re apostates anyways, they’re heretics of course.
These stupid, embarrassing typos happen in the Daily Universe all the time. Hopefully this one will finally convince the editors that it’s a bad idea to edit while half-asleep.
I was really annoyed when they ran the story on me back in spring 2003 and spelled my last name wrong. I had given the reporter two copies of papers I’d written on interfaith topics which had my name on them, plus she’d asked me over the phone how to spell my name correctly and I’d spelled it for her. Yet when they ran the story, there it was.
I hope someone had the sense to grab a stack and sell them for a buck each. What a great keepsake!
So…who are the people in this elite quorum? September Six no doubt, the readers of this blog….
Insight, the Honors Program’sdonation-solicitation brochureperiodical used some of my photographs in an ad without asking me. So I have it in for almost all BYU publications.
The DU faculty have no sense of humor whatsoever.
I was shocked to see that this article made it into the headlines of Yahoo! News. And I laughed. Because, while typos are bad, they are also funny. And anyone who took offense at this needs to lighten up.
Oh, geez. I just wanted to smack the people who were offended. And that one chick was right. There are typos and really pathetic errors in the Daily Universe all the time. So I wasn’t surprised.
I can recognize the humor of it, but think you may go a little far with how much you like it…
