Where I’ve been

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King came out on November 13, and I re-activated my account to check it out. I’m leveling a draenei death knight.
Also, Saints Row 2 for Xbox 360 is quickly turning into the best car-jacking crime sandbox game I’ve ever played, and I’m a fond fan of the earlier entries in the Grand Theft Auto series. I highly recommend Yahtzee’s Zero Punctuation review (language warning), because everything he says about the game is true. Since you can make your character look like whoever you want and dress them however you like, I made my drug-dealing, car-stealing, murderous gangsta look like Sarah Palin complete with glasses and a skirted suit. I’m working on a Barack Obama avatar to use as well.
So, blogging lite for a few days while I nerd out. Feel free to use this space to make fun of me for any of the above.
Oh, and the first person to condemn me for being a Christian who plays World of Warcraft and/or crime sandbox video games gets a cookie.

  1. Ahh! I’m trying so hard to avoid getting the xpac, so far I’ve been very good. How is it compared to the last one???
  2. I was always interested in MMORPGs, but I concluded that mixing an obsessive compulsive nature like mine with something so potentially time consuming and a need to earn income for my kids was not a match made in heaven.
Closest I ever got was wiling away the hours on Diablo II – and I never took that online.
My blogging habit is bad enough as it is…
  3. I CONDEMN YOU FOR PLAYING GAMES WHICH TEACH THE VERY, VERY EASY TO IMITATE ACTS OF WITCHCRAFT AND VIOLENCE WHILE YOU CLAIM TO BE A FOLLOWER OF THE LAMB OF GOD!
Is that enough? Do I get the cookie?
I can’t wait to get to my Lich Kinging. He seems quite wrathful. I do wonder how many spider silks I will need to acquire before I’m able to thwart his evil schemes.
  4. Sommers, it’s a lot of fun, and I would say better than BC so far. The quests seem to have been written with much more care and attention to humor, and the opening death knight quest line is something every player should check out, even if they stop playing the class after level 58. I did go ahead and leave Unleashed for Citadel, since I’m planning on just being a lolscrubcasual now.
Seth, I know what you mean–it can be a very addictive game. That’s why I’ve had to say “no” to raiding this time around. Don’t know how long I’ll keep playing, but I’ve been into MMORPGs off and on for a while. Case in point, that’s how I met Laura in the comments here, she was a DM on a Neverwinter Nights server.
Laura, LOL, wasn’t expecting an agnostic to do the condemning! Okay, I will bring you a big cookie when I see you this week. I’ll e-mail you Paul’s parents phone number and we can work out a day for you to come out. Are you playing WoW again?
