It is finished

  • All of the posts and intra-site links here at www.ClobberBlog.com link to new post locations here and not to the old site at clobbergirl.wordpress.com.
  • All images displayed on this site are stored here or at a neutral photo-sharing site like Photobucket instead of being “hotlinked” from images on the old site.
  • All of the posts and pages at the old site have links re-directing people to the corresponding posts here.
  • I have closed all threads for commenting at the old site.
  • I have deleted all of the comments on the old site—most were transferred here when I first moved the blog. A few I had to reproduce manually.
  • I have gone through the comments on this site and fixed all links to the old site.
  • I was having a hard time finding comments that linked to the old site with so many references to “ClobberGirl” scattered throughout the comments, so any commentators who referred to me as “ClobberGirl” have had their comments edited to say “[BJM]” instead. For example, see the comments on this thread here.
If you aren’t a blog administrator, you probably have no appreciation for how much work that took.
And now I never have to touch the old site again.

  1. Mad props for your HTML skills. :)
I webmaster my research groups blog. It’s enough of a pain and I don’t have to do all the crazy stuff you’ve done the last few weeks.
    Good job. It looks great!
  2. The main reason I moved was so I could have my own domain name and greater web design customization. Plus Rob Perkins was so awesome in offering to host me, it’s only costing me $5.95 a year for this site (to have the domain name registered).
  3. It’s made possible by the fact that Jack actually knows what to do with a custom WordPress site. Competence like that requires an earthly reward.
